About the club

FC Lineuper is a Tbilisi football club founded in 1948, built on one idea: everyone gets a place in the line-up.

Who we are

FC Lineuper is a Tbilisi football club founded in 1948 by a group of factory workers, teachers and schoolboys who wanted a team the whole neighbourhood could call its own. Seventy-eight years later the colours are still crimson and white, the ground is still a short walk from Rustaveli Avenue, and the idea behind the club has not changed: everyone gets a place in the line-up.

That idea gave us our name and our motto, One club, one line-up. It describes the first team that walks out at Lineuper Arena every second weekend, but also the academy boys training on Tuesday evenings, the volunteers who stuff envelopes for the foundation, and the 18,400 supporters who fill the stands when the lights come on.

Our values

Four principles guide every decision, from the way we sign players to the way we answer a supporter's email.

  • Together. The club belongs to its members. Season-ticket holders vote on the stadium charter and sit on the supporters' council.
  • Home-grown. We would rather develop a twelve-year-old from Saburtalo than buy a stranger. Seven of the current first-team squad came through our academy.
  • Honest play. We play to win and we play fairly. Our code of conduct applies equally to players, staff and the stands.
  • Open doors. Training days, school visits and community pitches are not a marketing exercise; they are why the club exists.

What this looks like in practice

Every first-team player visits a school each season. Every academy age group has a qualified coach and a qualified teacher. Every home match has a section reserved for under-12s at a symbolic price of 5 GEL.

The club today

The 2026/27 season is our fourth consecutive year in the top flight, and the first under head coach Levan Kapanadze, who arrived in June with a clear brief: attacking football built on the academy. The squad combines experienced leaders such as captain Giorgi Maisuradze and goalkeeper Nika Tsereteli with new faces including summer signing Luka Beridze and academy graduate Dato Shervashidze.

  • Founded: 1948
  • Home ground: Lineuper Arena, capacity 18,400
  • Colours: crimson, white and gold
  • Honours: 4 league titles, 3 national cups
  • Academy: 8 age groups, more than 300 young players
  • Season: 2026/27

Leadership

The club is led by president Nino Lomidze, a former academy parent who joined the board in 2014 and became president in 2020. Under her chairmanship the club rebuilt the east stand, balanced its books for six years running and opened the Lineuper Foundation. Head coach Levan Kapanadze is responsible for the first team and oversees the football pathway all the way down to the under-13s.

A club is not a brand. It is a promise that when the whistle goes, every one of us is on the same side.
