Match report: FC Lineuper 3-1 Aragvi Dusheti

FC Lineuper made it three wins from three at home with a composed 3-1 victory over Aragvi Dusheti at a sold-out Lineuper Arena on Sunday night. Captain Giorgi Maisuradze opened the scoring from the penalty spot, new signing Luka Beridze doubled the lead and academy graduate Dato Shervashidze sealed the points with his first league goal.

First half: pressure pays off

The hosts started at pace and had the lead by the 12th minute, when Beridze was brought down in the box and Maisuradze sent the goalkeeper the wrong way. Lineuper kept pressing high, and on 34 minutes Beridze, who had been the visitors' main problem, cut inside from the left and curled a shot into the far corner for his third goal in four league games.

Second half: control and a young hero

Aragvi found a way back in on 58 minutes, when a corner was flicked in at the near post by Lasha Gurgenidze. For a few minutes the game hung in the balance, until Kapanadze introduced Shervashidze for the tiring Jibladze on 62 minutes. The 18-year-old needed only nine minutes to make his mark, finishing a sweeping move from the left on 71 minutes.

The goal is beautiful, but what I liked most was the pass before it. Dato looked up, saw the run and made the right decision. That is the academy in one touch.
